Spend Summer 2027 Working with Horses in the USA + Canada

Skilled Summers is recruiting experienced horse riders, riding instructors, stable staff, and equestrian professionals for paid positions at accredited summer camps across the United States.

We work with a network of camps offering a variety of riding programmes, from beginner lessons and trail riding to advanced equitation and horse care instruction.

Responsibilities Teaching riding lessons to children and young people Supervising trail rides and arena activities Assisting with horse care and stable management Tack cleaning and equipment maintenance Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of riders and horses Participating in wider camp activities and events

Requirements Confident rider with practical horse handling experience Experience teaching or assisting with riding lessons preferred Friendly, enthusiastic, and comfortable working with children Available for approximately 9–16 weeks during the summer English speaking

Positions are available at multiple camps across the USA, with placements matched according to your riding experience, teaching ability, and preferences.

Qualifications are not essential, but are desirable for more senior positions, typical age ranges are between 18-30 however old applications are more than welcome to apply, especially if holding teaching qualifications.

The role is working with children between the ages of 6-16 at a variety of levels.

Accommodation is shared between staff, usual working pattern is 5.5 days a week.

Expect shared cabin style accommodation with other participants.
