The Thurlow Hunt is seeking an experienced, reliable and enthusiastic full-time Stud Groom to care for a small team of hunt horses on a private estate in Suffolk with excellent facilities.

This is primarily a sole-charge position, so applicants must be confident working independently, using their own initiative and maintaining the highest standards of horse care, yard management and paddock management.

The role includes: • Day-to-day care, management and fitness of the hunt horses. • Clipping, plaiting, turnout and all general yard duties. • Liaising with the vet, farrier and feed merchant. • Maintaining a clean, tidy and well organised yard. • Assisting with paddock and pasture management. • Preparing horses for hunting and other engagements as required.

We are looking for someone who: • Has experience with hunt or competition horses. • Is a confident and capable rider. • Is reliable, hardworking and well organised. • Holds a full UK driving licence. • Is able to drive a 7.5-tonne horsebox.

An excellent remuneration package, commensurate with experience, is offered, together with accommodation if required.
