**We are looking for an experienced, motivated and highly organised yard manager to join our busy and established equestrian centre in Cobham, Surrey. ** This is a hands-on management role, and the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of the yard, managing staff and maintaining the highest standard of horse welfare, customer service and yard presentation. Key responsibilities
- Managing the day-to-day running and organisation of a busy equestrian yard.
- Leading, supporting and managing a team of staff.
- Creating daily work plans and allocating duties to staff.
- Ensuring high standards of horse and pony welfare are maintained at all times.
- Monitoring the health, behaviour and general wellbeing of the horses and ponies.
- Liaising with veterinary surgeons, farriers, dentist, saddler, physio and other equine professionals.
- Ensuring accurate horse health and welfare records are maintained.
- Managing and resolving day-to-day staff issues and supporting the wider management team.
- Ensuring the yard, stables and surrounding areas are maintained to a high standard.
- Maintaining high standards of health and safety across the yard.
- Dealing professionally with clients
- Being actively involved in the practical, hands on running of the yard.
Requirements
The successful candidate must have:
- A minimum of BHS Stage 3 qualification.
- Previous management experience within an equestrian environment.
- Excellent knowledge of horse care, welfare and stable management.
- Experience managing and motivating a team of staff.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- The ability to work well under pressure and prioritise a busy workload.
- High standards and excellent attention to detail. **Salary and working pattern - **

Equestrian Employer Details
We are a family run riding school in surrey, offering lessons to a range of ages and abilities. Clients range from beginner up to the university of surrey BUCS team riders. We have around 40 horses, the majority of whom live out. we always have a few younger and greener horses for schooling, so there is plenty of riding too. Staff work a 5 day week with one weekend day and one late shift (1pm-9pm). We have regular training with a FBHS and always encourage staff to progress with their exams. We have our own transport, so there is an opportunity to get out schooling or competing. We have a really friendly and hard working team. We hold BHS exams for stage 1 and for Stage 2 care. lots of opportunities for someone who wants to be part of the team.
