We are looking for an experienced, mature and highly capable Groom/Yard Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of a private yard.

This is a unique full-time role offering excellent working conditions and a very good package for the right person. The position would be either 5 or 5.5 days per week, with some flexibility required, including occasional evenings.

The successful candidate must be self-motivated, flexible, organised and genuinely driven to deliver high standards at all times. They must have excellent attention to detail, strong horse care knowledge and the ability to work independently without needing constant direction.

Duties will include: • Full daily care of horses and ponies • Managing yard routine and standards • Feeding, turnout, mucking out and general horse care • Monitoring horses carefully and spotting any issues early • Liaising with farrier, vet, dentist and other professionals when required • Tack, rug and equipment management • Keeping the yard clean, tidy and well organised • Supporting competition / stay away shows and show preparation where needed

The ideal person will be: • Experienced in high-standard private or competition yards • Ideally experienced with shows and competition preparation • Mature, reliable and trustworthy • Very organised with strong attention to detail • Calm, sensible and confident around horses • Able to use initiative and prioritise properly • Flexible with hours and routine when needed • Kind and professional, but efficient • Proud of maintaining excellent standards

This is not a role for someone who needs chasing or micromanaging. We are looking for someone who takes real ownership, notices what needs doing and genuinely cares about the horses and the yard.
