Greetings from Camp Augusta, a magical summer camp in the woods of Northern California!

We're hiring new staff for the 2026 season, and hoping to find an awesome team of people. We're looking for people who love children, caring for horses, the outdoors, and who are self-motivated and playful!

Camp Augusta offers 100+ activities including (but certainly not limited to) circus, ziplines, hiking, horseback riding, archery, and blacksmithing! Our staff training is one of the longest in the country, covering topics that range from child development, communication styles, and skills training. Campers and staff also have an unprecedented level of control over their days, and are given the tools to follow their dreams and enthusiasm.

Our Equestrian Directors play a key role during the summer. Days are full with teaching arena lessons, facilitating trail rides, caring for our herd, and participating in other program areas around camp.

Some perks of the position: Certified Horsemanship Association Instructor Certification ($900+ value), Summer salary ranges between $8,000-12,000 (DoE) with opportunity for additional pre/post season work, Housing and freshly prepared local and organic food provided, A tight-knit and supportive community of mentors and peers, Opportunities for ongoing personal and professional growth (including a 3.5-week staff training), Internship credit (if desired and applicable to your studies, we can offer internship credit towards psychology, equestrian-related majors and more – ask us for more info!)

We are a non-profit summer camp for boys and girls ages 6-16. We have a small equestrian program (12 horses), mainly focused on Western riding, trail rides, and horse care with a sprinkling of English riding...a pretty typical summer camp program.

We need someone extremely excited to be working with campers at a summer camp. CHA certification is a plus, but if you don't have one we can pay for your certification!

Summer camps come in so many varieties, we'd like you to take a look at our camp and program to make sure we are a good fit. We have lots of information on our site including the brief job description.

Please contact us before completing the application if you are interested in this position.
