Live-in Assistant manager position available at Connecticut Equestrian Center in Coventry, CT. The position centers around responsibility for horse care, and management of other workers. Daily tasks include turning out and bringing in horses, preparing feed, ensuring all horses have properly prepared stalls, administering medications, basic first aid, careful observation of the horses to ensure their welfare, and night check. Other responsibilities include organizing work shifts for and supervising other staff, and preparing information for payroll. Good people skills are required as there is daily interaction with boarders and clients. Accommodation is a large 2 bedroom apartment over the barn. Equestrian Employer Details
Connecticut Equestrian Center is a well-appointed and exceptionally well run facility with 28 stalls; numerous turnout paddocks and 80+ acres. There is a 2 BR Manager's apartment over the barn, an indoor 168’ x 68’ arena with Lite Stride footing, a 200’ x 70’ fenced outdoor with rubber/sand mix footing, miles of trails, a cross-country arena, and jump equipment. CEC offers instruction in equitation, hunters, jumpers, dressage, trail, working equitation and versatility, and welcomes riders of all ages and abilities. CEC is not a show barn, although we do offer home shows, and some of our boarders and students compete. This is a drama-free facility for primarily recreational riders, and we have wonderful group of boarders and a strong community spirit. The owners live on the property.
