Responsibilities:
- Daily feeding and watering of 7 rescue horses
- Mucking stalls and maintaining paddocks
- Operating tractor and basic farm equipment
- Monitoring horse health and reporting concerns
- General farm maintenance and repairs
- Keeping the barn organized and clean
- Assisting veterinarian and farrier visits
- Helping ensure the safety and well-being of the animals
Our horses include off-the-track Thoroughbreds and rescue horses, we have approximately seven horses in total. We would require experience handling sensitive or high-energy horses.

Ideal Candidate: - Experienced with horses (minimum 5 years) - Comfortable working independently - No drama, strong work ethic - Dependable and honest - Physically able to perform farm work - Comfortable working around horses (horse experience preferred but not required if willing to learn) - Mechanically inclined is a plus - Valid driver’s license - No smoking around the barn
Things to consider before applying: This is a working farm, and we are looking for someone who takes pride in caring for animals and keeping the barn running smoothly. Additionally, This is a hands-on position caring for rescue horses seven days a week, with scheduled time off. We are looking for someone seeking a long-term home and career, not a temporary job.

Halo’s Haven Rescue is seeking a reliable, experienced horse person to assist with daily care of our horses. This is a hands-on position for someone comfortable working around Thoroughbreds and rescue horses.
We are a private rescue farm located on 45 beautiful waterfront acres in St. Michaels, Maryland with an indoor arena and multiple paddocks.
