We have an opening August 1st for a student who is interested in learning to start young horses, and do a lot of ground work with foals-3yos. Training and starting horses is one of the most lucrative areas of the horse industry and these skills can be tapped in any area of the country.
We welcome you bringing your own horse to improve your riding skills, as well as your horses training. Candidates can bring their own horse at the beginning of the program, acquire one while here, or ride ours in the program. Come out and stay for a couple days and see how much instruction you will receive! We can pick you up at the airport and you can stay in on the farm to interview. Come see why all of the candidates who interview say we offer the best program they've seen...because it's all about YOUR growth as a trainer and horseman. Minimum ability: Must be comfortable handling and riding green horses. You will be working with quality horses every afternoon and have one on one hands on training sessions 4-5x a week. . You'll learn what the training scale is and how to determine where a particular horse is on the training scale. Immerse yourself in a program centered around your training goals and future.
If you enjoy helping young horses find "light bulb" moments, this is the spot for you! Daily team barn work, including mucking, feeding, turnin/out etc in exchange for salary, minimum of 4 lessons a week, working with horses every afternoon, housing, board for your own horse, and trailering/coaching at local events.
We also offer commissions on sales of young horses. The program is $2400/mo in value. Min age 18yrs with a high school diploma or equivalent, a driver's license and health insurance for the duration of your stay.
TO APPLY: Send Resume' and riding video (and any video you might have teaching already) to julie@basculefarm.com
