The Barn Manager ideal candidate is experienced managing an equestrian facility and is highly skilled in all aspects of horsemanship including providing medical care and meeting equine nutritional needs.
Responsibilities:
Oversee and share in completing daily tasks and operations. Supervise and manage stable staff, working students, interns, and volunteers. Direct care of horses and small farm animals. Schedule and assist equine professionals. Assist with the equine conditioning program. Provide equine and small animal First Aid. Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment. Assist with managing the facility (paddocks, arena, and small animal habitats) Requirements:
Experience managing a multi-faceted equestrian facility.
Training in Equine Science, Management, and Nutrition
Advanced riding, horsemanship, horse handling, and conditioning skills
Excellent supervisory and communication skills, detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Ability to coordinate, delegate and supervise stable staff employees.
Requires strength and stamina to work in inclement weather and lift 50+pounds.
Embodies a strong work ethic, is a flexible thinker, and presents in a welcoming and professional manner.
PATH Intl. certification as an Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning (ESMHL.) Preferred
Interest in working in a therapeutic environment that provides services to children, adolescents, and adults with special needs.
Available Shifts:
Sunday-Wednesday 8 AM-4 PM, and Thursday 12-8 PM. The position requires flexibility to meet the needs of the center.
Compensation:
$19-22 per hour + extensive benefits (details below)
