Naushon Island located off the coast of Cape Cod is hiring for a full-time year-round Farm hand/maintenance worker. Worker to fill in and work in a number of tasks, including Barn Hand, Laborer, and Deckhand. This is not a management position and is paid an hourly wage. The farm hand position will cover the stable managers’ two days off each week and vacation time. The task entails feeding 20 horses and 12 sheep. Turning in and out, cleaning stalls, moving hay, putting up feed, keeping water clean and full, and keeping the barn and surrounding areas clean are all part of the job. The laborer portion of the job (under the supervision of a manager) will include operating a chainsaw, using a wood splitter, mowing, cleaning roads and trails, and erecting and maintaining fencing. Duties would also entail working with the maintenance personnel on island projects. The Deckhand position would be an on call if needed to fill in for the ferry department deckhand staff covering vacations and other paid time off. This position would report to the captain on duty and is subject to U.S. Coast Guard Drug Testing and random drug testing throughout employment.
