Full-Time Position at Northern Michigan Horse Boarding Facility
We are seeking a hardworking, motivated, and dedicated individual to join our team at a well-established horse boarding facility in northern Michigan. The farm is home to 20 boarded horses and offers a supportive environment not only for the horses, but also for the people who dedicate their time and energy to their care.
Core responsibilities include:
Feeding horses and ensuring proper nutrition schedules are maintained.
Cleaning stalls and maintaining cleanliness throughout the barns.
Turning horses in and out of pastures daily, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
Monitoring horse health and assisting with basic care routines, such as grooming, administering medications, and reporting any concerns.
General barn maintenance, including equipment checks, fence repairs, and keeping the environment safe and functional.
Assisting with seasonal tasks such as hay delivery, water line checks, and pasture rotation.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys both routine and variety, who is willing to get their hands dirty, and who finds fulfillment in caring for animals.
One of the benefits of this position is the included on-site housing. The selected candidate will have private living facilities, providing both comfort and convenience. Living on the farm ensures that the candidate is always close to the horses and facilities, making the transition between work and personal time seamless.
Compensation for the position is competitive and will be based on experience, skills, and the willingness to take on additional responsibilities. For those with extensive horse and farm experience, there is potential for increased salary and broader management duties. For those with less experience, the farm is open to training and supporting growth in the role.
