We are seeking an experienced and proactive Director of Operations to manage a premier equestrian property. This hands-on role demands strong leadership, equestrian facility expertise with dressage, and the ability to oversee staff, horses, vendors, and property. The Director will partner with ownership, set expectations, and ensure consistent operations.
Key Responsibilities
Horse Care: Ensure horse well-being; coordinate training/veterinary care; maintain feed/farrier schedules; respond to emergencies; document care for continuity.
Facilities/Equipment: Oversee grounds, buildings, and arenas; run preventive maintenance; conduct inspections; ensure timely repairs, safe footing, storm readiness, and minimal downtime; maintain equipment service logs and snow/ice response plans.
Team Leadership: Recruit, schedule, train, and coach employees; define SOPs and performance standards; promote safety; cross-train for coverage; hire seasonal staff as needed.
Emergency Response: Prepare for weather events/equine health incidents; maintain supplies; lead drills; ensure 24/7 readiness.
Vendor and Project Management: Vet vendors; obtain bids and negotiate contracts; manage budgets/timelines/scope; track costs against budgets; supervise quality.
Property Stewardship: Treat the facility as your own; identify efficiency improvements; apply relevant innovations.
Communication and Adaptability: Align owners, staff, and vendors; address feedback; adjust plans while protecting standards.
Qualifications
Proven experience managing high-end equestrian facilities, including dressage.
Effective leadership and people management; strong organizational and project skills with attention to detail.
Calm decisions in emergencies and a safety-first mindset.
Clear communication, professionalism, and commitment to continuous improvement.

We are a serene, private, upscale dressage facility featuring exceptional indoor and outdoor arenas, spacious grass paddocks, and several dry lots, all with shelters. We have 15 large stalls in our fully enclosed, heated center aisle barn. We are located just west of Minneapolis.
