We are currently seeking a full-time Inventory Manager to join our team. This key role oversees all aspects of inventory control and supply management to support our veterinarians and staff in delivering exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive and highly organized, with strong communication and problem-solving skills. This position plays an integral part in maintaining the efficiency of daily operations and supporting the practice’s mission of providing outstanding service to clients and their horses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all ordering processes including price comparisons, purchase order creation and inventory tracking.
- Maintain and oversee inventory across multiple locations ensuring adequate stock levels and minimizing waste.
- Highlight and address inventory trends, shortages and surpluses to ensure efficient allocation of resources.
- Maintain accurate and organized documentation for product usage and distribution.
- Ensure all handling, storage, distribution and recordkeeping meet regulatory standards for safety and compliance.
- Conduct regular audits to verify inventory accuracy and compliance with established policies.
- Foster strong relationships with suppliers and ensure product availability, service, quality and cost efficiency.
- Liaise with clients to ensure continuity of care and superior customer service.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in the equine or veterinary industry. Inventory management and purchasing experience preferred.
- Familiarity with veterinary pharmaceuticals, biologics and medical supplies.
- Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills with a strong attention to detail
- Great communication skills and customer service-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment and willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
- Proficiency with computers and ability to learn and adapt to practice management software is a must. Experience with HVMS a plus.
