Access Equestrian | Mount Kisco, NY
Access Equestrian, an adaptive, community and recreational riding center, is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Riding Instructor to join our team. Help riders of all ages and abilities build confidence, horsemanship skills, and a lifelong love of horses through our Adaptive and Community Riding and Horsemanship Programs, Pony Club, AEL teams and enrichment programs.
Responsibilities:
- Teach private and small-group riding and horsemanship lessons.
- Create individualized lesson plans and track rider progress.
- Ensure the safety of riders, horses, volunteers, and staff.
- Supervise grooming, tacking, untacking, and horse care.
- Ride and school lesson horses as needed.
- Support volunteers and communicate with riders and families.
- Participate in clinics, horse shows, enrichment programs and special events.
Qualifications:
- Experience teaching adaptive riding and/or hunter/jumper or dressage.
- Strong horsemanship and horse management skills.
- Experience working with riders of varying ages and abilities.
- PATH Int'l CTRI, CHA IRD, or equivalent certification preferred (but will mentor and train the right candidate).
- First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Schedule
- Flexible hours based on availability. Lessons are primarily held weekday afternoons/evenings and weekends, with additional opportunities through camps and special events.
Compensation: $16.00-$26.00 per session/hour, based on experience.
