The Assistant Ranch Manager will support the Ranch Manager in overseeing all aspects of a high-end equestrian estate, ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare, property maintenance, and client satisfaction. This role requires a dedicated and experienced individual with a strong background in horse care, stable management, and general ranch operations. The Assistant Ranch Manager will play a crucial role in maintaining the pristine condition of the facilities and the well-being of all horses. A hospitality background will give the right candidate an edge in this position. Equestrian Operations: Oversee stable staff, ensuring adherence to established protocols for cleanliness, safety, and horse handling. Monitor horse health and behavior, reporting any concerns promptly to the Ranch Manager. Coordinate farrier and veterinary appointments. Maintain detailed records of horse care, training, and health. Ensure adherence to training and exercise regimen as dictated by Ranch Manager. Supervise and train junior staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment. Assist in scheduling and delegating tasks effectively. Provide support to the Ranch Manager in administrative and operational duties. Act as a point of contact in the Ranch Manager's absence. Implement and enforce safety protocols for staff, horses, and visitors. Ensure compliance with all relevant agricultural, animal welfare, and safety regulations. Participate fully in all events by preparing the horses, barns, and Ranch Hands and executing the Event Schedule Assist Ranch Manager in schedule generation and planning for events Ensure exceptional experiences for guests and property owners through effective communication, proactive problem-solving, and a commitment to high-quality service Assist Ranch Manager in receiving guests at the Ranch Serve and manage flow of meal service Assist Ranch Manager with stocking buildings with appropriate hospitality supplies
Requirements
Job Requirements: Supervisory skills Valid Driver’s License & clean driving record Knowledge and ability to drive towing vehicles and trailers Experience in restaurant or hospitality industry preferred Ability for physical labor including lifting up to 50 lbs. Basic First Aid knowledge Extensive knowledge of horse care, nutrition, health, and behavior across various disciplines Strong understanding of ranch operations, including equipment maintenance and facility upkeep. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a demanding environment.

Our staff housing consists of a 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom condo that is not shared with any other employees. The condo is a short 5 minute drive from Blue Star Ranch. Unfortunately, we are not able to accomodate employee pets or horses at the Ranch at this time.
