We are looking for a capable and professional home groom/assistant manager type for a private family hunter/jumper farm in Charleston, SC. Must be clean, organized, and adhere to a high standard of care for about 9-11 horses working with 2/3 other wonderful employees. Because this is a stay at home position, individual must be able to work independently and be self-motivated while remaining responsive and communicative with the owner.
- Includes all aspects of horse care – feeding, turnout, mucking, waters, grooming, making grain, dragging ring, laundry, cleaning tack, blanketing, lunging, wrapping…
- Must be knowledgeable about basic vet care, and able to administer IV and IM meds. Will need to work with the vet, chiro, bodyworker, and farrier if owner is not there and relay all information back.
- Maintain general facility upkeep -- please keep facility clean, safe, and organized. Let owner know when necessary to order supplies.
- Would prefer a candidate comfortable driving the truck and trailer.
- Potential riding opportunities available to the right candidate.
- Housing available, private apartment on property. Job requires candidate to work on weekends typically Monday or Tuesday would be the day off, and do night checks several nights a week split between other employees.
