We are seeking a dedicated and experienced equine professional to join our team. This position is ideal for someone passionate about both riding and horse care, with strong leadership and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform training rides on a variety of horses
  • Teach lessons from beginner through advanced intermediate levels
  • Coach students at local and regional shows (hunter/jumper, dressage, and eventing)
  • Provide leadership and teamwork with barn staff
  • Horse care duties: grain preparation, afternoon feeding/watering, ordering grain, and daily night check
  • Administer basic equine medical care

Qualifications:

  • Strong jumping and flatwork skills
  • Experience teaching lessons and coaching at competitions
  • Several years of experience teaching and training in a professional eventing or hunter/jumper program
  • Strong horsemanship skills and attention to detail
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively
  • Positive, professional attitude with excellent communication skills
  • Able to work weekends
  • Legal to work in the United States
  • Fluent in English

Requirements

Must be very physically fit and able to lift heavy loads (50 lbs) and walk up and down hills. Clipping, braiding, and grooming skills preferred. Must have valid driver's license and the skills to drive a truck with horse trailer. Outgoing personality and ability to get along with different types of people. Strong recent references from horse related employment. Able to work on weekends.

Job Benefits

Salary, on site apartment, utilities (including internet) and board for one horse. The job is 5 days per week with two weeks per year paid time off. Year end bonus.
