Equine Work Experience

I completed my Level 2 Stable Management and Equine Care Apprentice at Hilltop Equestrian Centre. On a daily basis, I did the routine care for a block of 6 stables and horses that I was responsible for but also assisted in looking after the 56 total horses and ponies we had. From this I gained leadership skills and how to successfully manage my tasks competently. Throughout this apprenticeship I adapted myself to new challenges and situations and pushed myself to achieve new goals and skills with my riding. I gained excellent communication skills which allowed me to delegate tasks between myself and my work colleagues. I supported the veterinarians with routine practice checks and emergency illness afflicting the school's horses. I learnt from this workplace how to manage time effectively, to get essential jobs done to the time frame given, even if it means volunteering over time hours to ensure outstanding customer services are obtained.

Specialities

I have worked with both ex racers, unbroken ponies, Blue cross rescues, yearlings and foals ( colts and fillies), barren mares, in foal mares as well as having my own, OTTB which I event and started to hunt, Connemara pony and Shetlands.

Type of Ride Work
