Duties of Current Occupation

Run a 28-horse yard, responsible for all daily routines, staff,and horse care Manage exercise programmes, turnout, feeding, and health routines Work closely with vets,farriers,physios, and owners to ensure top-level care

Experienced and practical equine professional with over 30 years in the industry. Currently managing a busy yard of 28 horses, with a strong focus on high standards of care, organisation, and teamwork. Confident handling a wide range of horses and situations, with a calm, reliable approach. Skilled in all aspects of yard management, including staff supervision and liaising with owners, vets, and other professionals. Passionate about horse welfare and maintaining a positive, well-run environment for both horses and people.

Type of Ride Work

Riding regularly for over 30 years, with experience on a variety of horses including young, fit, and competition types. Competed in unaffiliated dressage at intro and prelim level, and completed a full season of affiliated showing, riding both a small hunter and a large riding horse. Confident, quiet rider with a good seat and a focus on producing well-mannered, responsive horses. Comfortable schooling on the flat, hacking, and bringing on greener horses with patience and consistency.

Competition Details

Over the years, I’ve gained hands-on competition experience both as a rider and as a groom across different disciplines. I’ve worked as a competition groom for both event and show riders. Duties included turnout to a high standard (plaiting, trimming, tack cleaning, etc.), loading/unloading, managing horses at busy events, and supporting riders ringside. Confident working under pressure and keeping horses settled and well-presented in different competition environments.
