A member of the Suffolk Hunt pony club on a NewForest grand master pony and then a young thoroughbred.. Late career change! Would love to find a job in an English speaking French yard in or a fun challenging UK yard with some riding..Thank-you.Qualifications
Lots of experience from an early age. Driving Licence. Happy to work towards recognised equine qualifications. Pony-club ride and road safety and Pony-club B" test.
Duties of Current Occupation
Polo yards 6 ponies sole charge. Preparing ponies for Chukkas/matches , stick and ball. etc Fittening horses, turn in/out. Assisted day long rides, bringing in, tacking up, cooling down. Liase with clients, horse owners, visitors, club members.
Equine Work Experience
Pony Club. One day events. Hunter trails. Dressage. Brought on young thoroughbred, placed at every outing. Basic equine first aid, bandaging, plaiting, clip. Polo groom, trekking abroad, private hunt yard, riding stables and livery yards.
Specialities
Optimising fittness as I truely believe that produces best results. Natural affinity with horses. Intuitive, meticulous and thoughtful. Happy working in a team or sole charge. I have show jumped, enjoyed working hunter classes, hunted, cross-country etc. Keen to broaden skills in dressage, or with foals and yearlings. Perhaps carriage driving too. Adaptable. Flexible. Up for a challenge.
Type of Ride Work
I am looking for an English yard in Central France for freelance/part-time work. I am also more than happy to work in England. Taking time to know each horse, their different temperaments, apptitude to ensure best results is important. Long relaxed fun hacks. Rural location essential. Fit happy horses are best. My dressage is basic, keen to improve, develope skills. Hunting yard considered. If given time to know the horse, I'm happy to school over jumps and bring on youngsters.
Competition Details
One Day events. Hunter showing classes, hunter trails, Showjumping. Placed every time. Brought on a young Thoroughbred horse who was eventually sold for A" Team Pony Club competitions.
