I am currently teaching abroad, but have years of experience breaking and training nervous / wild and problem horses and ponies. I also have years of experience working at a trekking yard in Cornwall, UK as a stable manager and tour guide.
I have been riding for 25 years and have always been exposed to nervous, young and 'problem' horses and ponies. I have experience competing showjumping and x-country and very much enjoy flatwork schooling, however, I am not at all competitive. Instead I have focused on breaking and training 'wild' ponies (untouched but owned ponies) as well as bringing on youngsters.I also have approximately 10 years of experience working summers (then full time) at a small trekking stables in Cornwall, UK, taking hacks out across open moorland. I am used being responsible for the welfare of up to 20 horses at a time, along with related health and safety for both horses and clients. I would often ride for up to 8 hours a day in the summer and would trail-hunt regularly in the winter. I am able to practice 'natural horsemanship' as taught and advocated by Monty Roberts and Mark Rashid. Please note I do NOT practice or like parelli as I view it as too confrontational.
