I do not have any official qualifications.
I have experience in basic horse management and care. I have worked at two yards. The first yard I volunteered at was Boydstone Riding school. At the time I was in high school and therefore volunteered at weekends. I was responsible for grooming and tacking up the horses and ponies which were required for each lesson. I was also responsible for mucking out and cleaning tack. I was required to help in some lessons with young children by leading the ponies. Some of the ponies were used only for teaching young children so I would ride them in more advanced lessons to keep their fitness up. The second yard I worked for was Pentland Stables Livery Yard. Most horses were full livery at this yard so I was responsible for all care during the day. I was also responsible for keeping an eye on the horrses health. During my time at the stables I learned some basic horse health care such as bandaging and oral medication administration with a syringe. I was also responsible for field management.
My riding experience so far has been mostly school work with some road and field hacking. I have not ridden regularly for a few tears so I am slightly rusty but before I stopped I was fairly competent and confident. This semester at university I hope to start playing polo.
