I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. Ideally, I would be looking for a role in the Basingstoke area while I'm learning to drive, but happy to consider a live-in position in the wider Hampshire region or further afield.
My name is Daisie, I am 18 years old and have owned horses for the past 5 years. I have previously worked on an international showjumping yard and am keen to pursue my next job. I am open to any discipline and able to adapt to every yards standards and needs.
I am currently an assistant barn manager. In my position, I have two days of sole charge a week when the barn manager is off. I help handle daily care of the horses. I also help with client communication, vet appointments, and exercising the horses.
I have been riding and working with horses since I was eight. I started in the industry as a working student where I learned all the basics. I primarily rode English and started to show equitation/hunters. I have experience as a groom at an A rated jumper barn, as well as a private show jumping barn. I have experience grooming, feeding, doing basic barn work, carrying out daily care, lunging, riding, etc. I also have experience helping with teaching summer riding camp, as well as assisting with the lesson program. I have multiple years of experience as an equine vet tech, where I worked both on the road and in the clinic caring for patients. I am comfortable working with everything, including foals and stallions. I have spent the past few years working as an assistant barn manager. My main role as the assistant manager is to help with handling the daily care of the horses. In my current position, I also handle some client communication and management of part time employees.
I have been riding English for many years now. I do a lot of flat work and take lessons for hunters and equitation. I jump up to 3' at home and have experience riding many different types of horses and ponies from many different levels of training. I have shown up to 2'6 at local shows. I have been out of lessons and showing for a few years, but do still ride at my current job.
