Groom sought for quiet retirement livery yard in Cornwall, near to Plymouth.
5 hours a day, 5 days a week. 2 days off per week.
Very little variation in hours and so another afternoon, part-time job can be taken at same time.
The livery business makes up part of a family-owned, farm business.
We have approx. 17 sweet, retired characters, safe to handle.
Most horses live out during the summer 6 months. A few come in to stables in the winter.
Owners live on site and are nearly always on hand to help.
Farm is approx 5 miles from each of 3 surrounding towns, pubs and supermarkets (Liskeard, Callington & Saltash.
Owners drive to one of these towns almost every day.
A car is handy but not essential. A car can be borrowed from the owners for local trips.
Driving experience, but not a full licence, is essential as the groom's job requires the use of a small truck for visiting horse fields around the farm.
Some other general jobs required during summer such as cleaning of Holiday Let farmhouse (with owner), strimming, painting windows, light fencing work etc
Requirements

The groom's accomodation is attached to the farmhouse at one end.
The ground floor is studio type room with own private glass door to front and also to back.
It has a wood burner, IKEA fully appointed kitchen-in-a-cupboard, (sink, hob, fridge, worktop.drainer, drawers and cupboards), This can be fully closed up. General living space has a comfy 2 seat sofa (option of king size sofabed) small dining table and chairs (seats 2 or pulled out seats 4). Macerating understair toilet (small space for this), no shower, but use of easy access, close by, large shower room in house. Wooden stairs to mezzanine sleeping platform with pitched roof and kingsized double bed and chest of drawers and bedside tables.
Small concreted area to front of groom's studio and large overgrown garden to back of groom's accommodation.
