This advert is for a full time role,

however we are often looking for part/ timers or morning & weekend help if you are local to the yard and in driving distance (Cardiff) !

Experienced, enthusiastic & dedicated groom required for private, friendly, family run showjumping / competition yard, you will be required to help on yard (all general duties included) and also be required to groom at SJ competitions (day shows and stay away shows) . You must love caring for horses like they are your own, be happy, positive, efficient & turn out to high standard (OCD welcome)!. UK Shows attended include 5* Global Champions Tour London , HOYS, London International (Olympia) , Blue chip Championship, BS Nationals, Chepstow International, Bolesworth International Chard international, same shows planned for 2025/6 plus some shows in Europe . HGV licence would be a bonus for any shared driving.

Yard includes show jumping horses and ponies who all compete regularly.

We are looking for an individual that wants to feel part of the family & team, who will be appreciated for their dedication and commitment to the job. We would like someone that is looking for a long term job. Loyalty is key!

TYPICAL DAY start :8am feeding, hay, horses on /off walker, turning out , mucking out, tacking up/untacking, grooming, hot clothing, trimming in wash box, foot care

AFTERNOON: skipping out, hay, check waterer, bring in youngsters from field, feed, sweep yard & horse walker clipping when required

the yard starts at 8am unless we are off to a show then it can be earlier to allow time to drive to venue.

riding is a possibility but only if of high a high standard and time allows to carry out daily yard duties also.

Must be honest, reliable, cheerful, dedicated, be able to turn out to a high standard, work in an efficient and calm manner around the horses. These horses are all well mannered so I expect staff to handle them in a kind manner also - we do not tolerate heavy handed or rough handling at this yard.

Must have experience of grooming at SJ competitions and stay away SJ shows. Packing lorry for nationsl & international shows

I have 2 competitive teenage SJ children who have competed at HOYS, London International (Olympia ) they are still on 148 ponies & horses, we attend the major pony shows in UK throughout the year as well as horse shows.

We are a Family run yard with 2 well mannered, polite children who like to help on the yard Harmony & positive good vibes are key ...... if you are any of the below, please DO NOT apply
