I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. Ideally, I would be looking for a role in the Basingstoke area while I'm learning to drive, but happy to consider a live-in position in the wider Hampshire region or further afield.

Recently returned from travelling and working around Australia and looking for full time work.
My most recent position was the role of Head Groom at a small dressage/livery yard. My daily routine included the sole charge of taking care of 9 elite performance dressage horses 3 liveries. This involved the making of feeds, medication, turn out, mucking out of 12 stables, filling up haynets and routinely switching them in the hay steamer, yard sweeping, tack cleaning, lunging, tacking up for riding, hacking, bathing, bringing horses out for vet/dentist/farrier checks etc as well as supervising an apprentice groom. When the rider was away at shows, I would be fully responsible for keeping things running smoothly at the yard. As we had a number of DIY liveries, it was important that I was able to greet and chat to them in a friendly manner and help them out as much as possible if they needed advice or help with their horses.
Hard working and committed groom with outgoing and bubbly personality looking for a position for Jan 2018.
I also worked sole charge as a groom in Australia for a small breeding and dressage yard and learned the basics of the AEBC/ESI
https://www.esi-education.com methods, which I practice in my work with horses. This valuable teaching has provided me with the confidence and knowledge to handle any horse I have encountered.
I also worked as part of a team of 10 other grooms as part of a Riding School/Trekking Centre and volunteered at the RDA.
I have also owned and loaned my own horses.
