I am a keen aspiring groom who has been working with horses on a voluntary basis, and am now looking for a full or part-time opportunity to progress my career and gain more experience. I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. Ideally, I would be looking for a role in the Basingstoke area while I'm learning to drive, but happy to consider a live-in position in the wider Hampshire region or further afield.
My name is Daisie, I am 18 years old and have owned horses for the past 5 years. I have previously worked on an international showjumping yard and am keen to pursue my next job. I am open to any discipline and able to adapt to every yards standards and needs.
currently working in RDA but wanting to break into the eventing industry. hard working, empathetic and handy with a tool.pretty brave rider always wanting to progress as far as possible, can be flexible with hours/days working.
I have no Equine related qualifications.
Social Care Studies (complete).
I haven't worked in a professional equestrian environment as such. Only on a private / local level. Throughout my young teenage years I discovered my true passion for horses. Having the opportunity to explore this on a local yard from (2008 - 2O14), I practiced on-going development in the area which resulted in me taking responsibility for and managing a yard of 24 horses, with a variation of breeds, foals/young stock, rescues, mares & stallions at the time. The opportunity also allowed me to work as an individual without supervision & develop a strong work ethic whilst equally working with a team. I particularly had /still have a keen interest in relationship building and understanding behavior. It is important for me to experience this & I thought what better way to learn but from the very start! for both the youngster & myself. Over time I had developed skills & knowledge from each youngster I worked with, to the point where I was able to train my then 3yr old for riding.
Foals /Young stock General Yard duties
From a young age I had been riding & exercising ponies /horses in a school setting attending lessons, camps, and so forth.(I haven't had the opportunity to ride in recent years). As I became more independent back then, I developed my experience with my own foals & horses along with others on a local (private) yard. I have worked with some problem horses, foals & rescues. Carrying out ground & flat work activities. I have some experience in starting a horse as mentioned above (3yr old gelding).
