I am a keen aspiring groom who has been working with horses on a voluntary basis, and am now looking for a full or part-time opportunity to progress my career and gain more experience. I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. Ideally, I would be looking for a role in the Basingstoke area while I'm learning to drive, but happy to consider a live-in position in the wider Hampshire region or further afield.
My name is Daisie, I am 18 years old and have owned horses for the past 5 years. I have previously worked on an international showjumping yard and am keen to pursue my next job. I am open to any discipline and able to adapt to every yards standards and needs.
currently working in RDA but wanting to break into the eventing industry. hard working, empathetic and handy with a tool.pretty brave rider always wanting to progress as far as possible, can be flexible with hours/days working.
I have various qualifications from school including standard grades, highers and advanced highers in subjects such as Maths, English, Drama and Sciences. I also hold a HNC in Legal Services.
I am left in sole charge of clients homes and/or pets whilst they are away, I do alot of dog sitting aswell as looking after/riding clients horses. I follow the instructions left by the owners to the letter.
My family have had horses for generations, my grandmother was a national hunt trainer, therefore I have been riding since I was a child and have been around horses my whole life. I have ridden horses for many different people including family eventers/hunters. I have worked at a livery yard where I completed all the usual stable tasks and I rode a wide variety of horses from newly backed youngsters to the more experienced horses. I was also a groom for my Aunt, who has hunters and eventers. In both yards I was often left in sole charge. Mainly I have ridden young/inexperienced horses and brought them on, which is a process I find very rewarding. I was in the pony club as a child and so have done all pony club activites. I have my own ex-race horse whom I hope to event in the future.
I am a trustworthy person who can be left in charge when owners are away . I am hardworking and do everything to the best of my abilities. I have worked with horses my whole life, I never feel more at home than when I'm mucking out stables and riding! I am also very observant when it comes to the welfare of horses, I can always tell when something is not quite right. I also work in student accommodation. I am left in sole charge running the site, organising staff, liaising with contractors.
As mentioned above I have ridden a wide variety of horses/ponies. This has helped shape the type of rider that I am. I am a very quiet rider, I don't panic when something happens I remain calm and logical.
I competed alot during my pony club days, representing the club at Interbranch in both Dressage and showjumping. I have alot of experience in starting young horses at local competitions as well as competing more experienced horses (mainly eventing).
