I am a keen aspiring groom who has been working with horses on a voluntary basis, and am now looking for a full or part-time opportunity to progress my career and gain more experience. I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. Ideally, I would be looking for a role in the Basingstoke area while I'm learning to drive, but happy to consider a live-in position in the wider Hampshire region or further afield.
My name is Daisie, I am 18 years old and have owned horses for the past 5 years. I have previously worked on an international showjumping yard and am keen to pursue my next job. I am open to any discipline and able to adapt to every yards standards and needs.
currently working in RDA but wanting to break into the eventing industry. hard working, empathetic and handy with a tool.pretty brave rider always wanting to progress as far as possible, can be flexible with hours/days working.
I am currently working towards my BHS complete horsemanship qualifications, and aim to achieve stage 2 by the end of the year, ready to complete stage 3 next year. I have a clean driving licence and am also in the process of obtaining a C1+E lorry licence. I have completed various qualifications which include high GCSE and A level grades and a 2:1 (Hons) degree in architectural interior design.
My main focus is developing, training and caring for my clients' horses. Providing advice on the feeding and exercise regime of those in my care. I also aim to ensure that they remain respectful of their handler and improve any groundwork issues.
I have been riding from a very young age and have ridden a variety of horses along the way. I have experience in the general maintenance and exercising of horses, competing in various disciplines and training young/green horses to the point of competing. With 18 years of equine experience, I am familiar with the level of hard work and commitment it takes in order to fulfil the potential of each horse. In recent years I have worked as a freelance rider and enjoyed bringing on each horse, especially the younger/inexperienced ones.
My ability to take on instruction and use my initiative, enables me to successfully work both independently and within a team. I'm hardworking, conscientious and very observant, and can be relied upon to ensure that the horses' welfare is at the heart of everything I do. As for the working environment, I love a clean, tidy, organised yard! Keen to learn and contribute, I would love to bring my passion and strong work ethic to a professional yard where I can add value; not just fill a vacancy.
As mentioned, I have ridden a variety of horses in a variety of disciplines. I am a sympathetic, quiet rider with a classical seat. I am understanding of the way horses develop and learn, and how each does so at their own pace. Personally, I am a quick learner in my riding and am able to adapt to the different requirements of horses.
I have competed a lot in showing, dressage and showjumping events, always achieving high results, often placed and qualified for several championships. I have experience in competing young/green horses as well as the more experienced. Presently, I have two horses that I am competing. Both being competed in dressage, and one in showjumping, with hopes to bring the young one up to showjumping for next season.
