With my own horse (a 4-year-old warmblood), I have assisted in backing her and have schooled her myself since last November. We are now schooling at Elementary level and are hoping to continue to climb up the levels. As well as my horse, I have also helped back a number of youngsters, from cobs to warmbloods. For 10 years, I have undertaken previous voluntary work at my local riding school, helping on the yard, as well as teaching lessons to beginners in more recent years. This work consisted of all yard duties including mucking out, grooming, schooling and lunging multiple horses a day. With around 40 horses on the yard, I am able to work in tight time-frames. As well as helping with the riding school side of the business, I also assisted with the stud. This included teasing mares, holding mares while they were being covered and handling youngstock. I am proficient in preparing horses for competitions and I am able to plait, wash, tack clean etc.
I have been riding since I was 4 years old and have owned horses since I was 13, meaning I am very confident working around them. Helping at my local riding school gave me the necessary social skills and taught me how to work both individually and as a team member and I see myself as a hard-working and conscientious person. I have always been passionate about horses and the opportunity to work with them and further enhance my equine expertise in a professional environment is too good to miss.
.Exercising .Schooling .Starting recently backed horses .Hacking (Competent on main roads, beach, fields) .Experience SJ/ XC .I have experience riding a variety of horses of different breeds and abilities (e.g. Warmbloods, Andalusians, Heavy Horses, Hunters)
I have competed BD up to Elementary level and I am currently competing my 4-year-old mare. This year, we have qualified for both the Under 25s Championships at Sheepgate, and Area Festival 2nd Rounds at Preliminary level. I am aiming to compete at Novice/ Elementary level in the new year, with the aim to go further up the levels.
I also have experience competing youngsters who have rarely competed, not only in Dressage but at unaffiliated Show Jumping and One Day Events.
