I am a keen aspiring groom who has been working with horses on a voluntary basis, and am now looking for a full or part-time opportunity to progress my career and gain more experience. I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. Ideally, I would be looking for a role in the Basingstoke area while I'm learning to drive, but happy to consider a live-in position in the wider Hampshire region or further afield.
My name is Daisie, I am 18 years old and have owned horses for the past 5 years. I have previously worked on an international showjumping yard and am keen to pursue my next job. I am open to any discipline and able to adapt to every yards standards and needs.
currently working in RDA but wanting to break into the eventing industry. hard working, empathetic and handy with a tool.pretty brave rider always wanting to progress as far as possible, can be flexible with hours/days working.
Currently working towards an Equine Groom NVQ Level 2.
Working in a riding a school, my duties are; tacking up, grooming, bathing, feeding, mucking out, exercising, basic medical care. I teach stable management, pony club, riding lessons (lower level, walk, trot, canter) and take hack and walk outs.
Within the three years I have been working in the equine industry, I have been given the opportunity to work in different environments.
My first year was spent volunteering with abused horses and helping them to learn to trust people before being sold on to loving homes. I have worked with horses that are aggressive, head shy, skittish and spooky.
The next year I moved onto a riding school/liver yard. The days I was working, I was tasked with sole care of 19 livery horses.
I now work as an apprentice on a riding school, where I work in a team, caring for over 25 horses.
I am confident around any size and temperament of horses.
I can work with a wide range of horses, from nervous and shy to pushy and arrogant.
While not specialising in a certain equine industry, I will turn my hand to anything and am happy and eager to learn.
I also have my own young foal and am capable of handling young horses.
I hack out confidently on nervous/abused horses. I will ride on roads or in the country side.
I can walk/trot/canter/gallop and low jump.
My schooling knowledge is limited, but I have no worries about sitting on and riding challenging horses.
I have only ridden in a few clear round classes. But I do have experience in riding in a crowded warm up ring in walk/trot/canter and jump.
I have been a groom at a few competitions, caring for the horses and getting them prepped with basic show turn out.
