currently working in RDA but wanting to break into the eventing industry. hard working, empathetic and handy with a tool.pretty brave rider always wanting to progress as far as possible, can be flexible with hours/days working.
Due to a change in circumstances I'm currently looking for a part time riding role, 4 mornings a week, but can be flexible. I have over 16 years experience within the industry and have produced horses from youngstock up to intermediate. I'm happy to work with all sorts, from happy hackers to fit competition horses. Quiet but firm rider, who can deal with quirks if necessary. Ideally within 30 mins of Newark but happy to travel up to an hour for the right place.
From Showjumping, to showing/eventing and foals through to stallions I have experience in all aspects of the equestrian world. I am looking for my next long term journey where I can spend my days working with the animals I love, and carry out my exceptionally high standards for the right person.
I have a triple distinction in a level 3 extended diploma in equine business management which I studied at Hartpury college.
My main duties include mucking out, bringing horses in/turning out, lunging, exercising, turning out horses for competitions and hunting, taking trail rides from complete beginners to advanced, feeding, occasionally managing a lively yard.
I have worked at a 4* event yard once a week for a year as part of my college course. I completed duties such as mucking out, sweeping, bathing, exercising horses (on the ground and ridden), turning out and brining in. The event yard was an umbrella company to a racing yard which I also did a bit of work on so have experience working with young, fit competition horses. I have also worked at a busy, fast paced riding school where I completed general yard duties, mucking out, grooming, turning out etc. also preparing horses for riding lessons and leading during lessons. I’ve worked at a riding school/ hunt yard so have experience turning out hunters and competition horses, also riding young and fit horses.
I like things kept clean and always turn out to a high standard whether that's keeping the yard clean or grooming horses. I also equally enjoy working as a team and independently. I’ve also had experience in handling foals and broodmares. I’ve got experience running a yard and managing a team. I also have experience in turning out horses for competitions and hunting to a high standard. One of my main previous rolls has been taking hacks through the Cotswold hills.
I have ridden a range of horses from youngsters to green horses. I do flatwork, hacking and jumping . i have a small amount of experience bringing on a horse that's freshly broken and have slightly more experience in brining horses back into work after time off. I’m not scared of anything with a bit of spice so will not be put off by more challenging horses.
during my time at college i was required to help run the competitions that went on, my duties included taking entries, setting up arenas and directing people where to go. these were both affiliated and non affiliated and disciplines varied from dressage, show jumping, combined training and arena eventing. I have done a couple of non affiliated competitions and hunted but don't have too much experience competing myself.
