I am a keen aspiring groom who has been working with horses on a voluntary basis, and am now looking for a full or part-time opportunity to progress my career and gain more experience. I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. Ideally, I would be looking for a role in the Basingstoke area while I'm learning to drive, but happy to consider a live-in position in the wider Hampshire region or further afield.
My name is Daisie, I am 18 years old and have owned horses for the past 5 years. I have previously worked on an international showjumping yard and am keen to pursue my next job. I am open to any discipline and able to adapt to every yards standards and needs.

British Horse Society Stage 1 and Ride and Road Safety. BSc (Hons) Animal and Conservation Biology (expected 1st Class)
BHS Stage 1
I worked at a riding centre teaching lessons with young groups or beginner riders, taking out hacks, mucking out, preparing horses for lessons, and riding. I took a year out to work at a eventing yard on an apprenticeship before moving to university,
I have been horse riding for about 15 years, starting off with volunteering at my local riding centre before getting a job there to work during holidays and on weekends whilst at school. At theriding centre, I taught lessons and took beach hacks, prepared horses for customers and helped with yard management
I went on to work full time at a competition yard where I cared for the horses and continued to develop my riding on my own horse. My work involved lunging, mucking out and handling of the horses. I worked at weekend competitions, preparing the ponies for show jumping. I learnt how to work to an industry timescale with health and safety in mind.
Since moving the university, I have worked with my own two horses on DIY livery and volunteered with RDA every Sunday.
I have owned a Friesian gelding for the past 8 years, competing at prelim dressage. I purchased a trotter in 2022 as a project and working towards getting out this summer to some local shows, selling before moving to Bristol. I would look to bring my friesian with me to continue my riding and hopefully work towards some novice dressage.
When I was at school I would help to bring on young and inexperienced ponies. I would ride a range of horses, and was confident to jumping, hack or do flat work.
This year I have some British My Quest dressage planned, and regularly ride out on hacks at the Pentlands in Edinburgh too.
Competed at local unaffiliated shows, going to affiliated this year for both horses.
