I am a keen aspiring groom who has been working with horses on a voluntary basis, and am now looking for a full or part-time opportunity to progress my career and gain more experience. I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. Ideally, I would be looking for a role in the Basingstoke area while I'm learning to drive, but happy to consider a live-in position in the wider Hampshire region or further afield.
My name is Daisie, I am 18 years old and have owned horses for the past 5 years. I have previously worked on an international showjumping yard and am keen to pursue my next job. I am open to any discipline and able to adapt to every yards standards and needs.
currently working in RDA but wanting to break into the eventing industry. hard working, empathetic and handy with a tool.pretty brave rider always wanting to progress as far as possible, can be flexible with hours/days working.
I attended college at Brackenhurt equestrian and agricultural college completing a level three diploma in horses care and management - which is the equivalent to three A-levels.
BHS Stage 1
My main day to day routine is to bring in, groom and tack up horses ready for lessons on a tight schedule. Feed and/or medicate horses that may require this. Assist customers with whatever they need. Ensure the yard is kept in tip top shape.
I have work at various yards in multiple roles; I simply started poo picking at weekends but have followed my career through college and worked my way up as an assistant yard manager at a prolific riding school. For the last four years I have worked professionally on three yards as an assistant groom through to an assistant manager and instructor. Ensuring no matter my role that I keep a high regard for myself and other around me and ensuring my tasks are completed.
I have worked with horses since I was fourteen on a sales and stud yard. I have handled all types of horses; young competition fit stallions, newborn foals, freshly weaned yearlings, pregnant mares.
I have experience leading a small team of young volunteers while working at the riding school and can ensure that tasks get done quickly and efficiently while maintaining a high standard of work.
I take pride in the way I complete my tasks from immaculate beds to sharply swept yards.
I have ridden a number of different horses throughout my ridden career.
I have participated in hunting, show jumping, cross country riding, eventing, dressage and multiple other recreation riding activities on the side such as horse-ball and endurance riding.
I have never owned my own horses meaning I have had to loan and borrow so have never had an ‘easy’ ride, I have taught horses and in turn they have taught me. From a small Welsh to now a large green and sharp warmblood.
My first job was at a sales and stud yard so I was constantly hopping on and off the lorry joining my boss at competitions and training events. I have groomed at many competitions but mainly for British eventing, meaning I turned out to a high standard for all three phases and ensured the welfare of the horse was not only paramount throughout but especially after.
I myself have competed over the years but mainly low level unaffiliated.
