I am a keen aspiring groom who has been working with horses on a voluntary basis, and am now looking for a full or part-time opportunity to progress my career and gain more experience. I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. Ideally, I would be looking for a role in the Basingstoke area while I'm learning to drive, but happy to consider a live-in position in the wider Hampshire region or further afield.
My name is Daisie, I am 18 years old and have owned horses for the past 5 years. I have previously worked on an international showjumping yard and am keen to pursue my next job. I am open to any discipline and able to adapt to every yards standards and needs.
currently working in RDA but wanting to break into the eventing industry. hard working, empathetic and handy with a tool.pretty brave rider always wanting to progress as far as possible, can be flexible with hours/days working.
Unfortunately I have not had the opportunity to go to a university to study any equine programs.
I have been riding horses for 7 years now, with a slight pause in the middle due to an unfortunate back injury. I volunteered at a horse rescue and worked with a large demographic of horses for three years. For the past few months I have been working full-time at an equine facility, and I picked up a great many things from that experience, such as working with a blind horse, over seeing the health and well being of a herd that consisted of 30 very different horses, learning how to pick up on very subtle yet important cues in a horse's body language, and how to properly maintain and manage an equine facility.
I am excellent at creating lists and keeping organized. I make it a point to always put the horses first, as they all deserve as much as we can give them. I have personally handled many foals in the past, and I find them absolutely brilliant to work with.
I have ridden all sorts of horses, from green to previously abused all the way to retired. All were wonderful experiences and have allowed me to grow further in my knowledge of how to handle certain circumstances or behaviors. I have worked in hunter jumpers and flatwork for the majority of my riding career, with hopes of expanding to dressage and cross-country.
Growing up I rode and competed in IEA, but I have not had any other opportunities of the competitive nature.
