currently working in RDA but wanting to break into the eventing industry. hard working, empathetic and handy with a tool.pretty brave rider always wanting to progress as far as possible, can be flexible with hours/days working.
Starting young horses under saddle, bringing them along to at least first level in dressage. Anything that needs to be done around the barn, from mucking out stalls, watering/dragging arenas, to helping with vet care of the horses.
I started riding when I was four, and my very first job was starting ponies under saddle when I was around 12. I've worked at 2 different barns, and have experience helping with all the things that go along with basic maintenance/care (cleaning stalls, turning out horses, watering/dragging arenas, helping hold horses for the farrier/vet, etc).
I have worked as a veterinary assistant for Rocky Mountain Large Animal Clinic (which dealt soley with horses) for 10 months, gaining a lot of experience/knowledge in helping taking care of sick/injured equines.
When I was about 12 I started working with a trainer who trained a lot of green horses and ones that were unstarted. For 8 years I primarily focused on working with young/green horses and starting them under saddle. In seeking higher education, I started colts in Buck Brannaman's clinics, and have ridden horses in his horsemanship classes. 2 years ago I started working with an FEI dressage trainer, and have developed a tremendous interest in bringing along young dressage horses.
I have not had the chance to do a lot of competing, but I was selected to participate in 60 day colt starting challenge that took place in Odgen, UT. I've also done a few dressage shows in the lower levels.
