I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. Ideally, I would be looking for a role in the Basingstoke area while I'm learning to drive, but happy to consider a live-in position in the wider Hampshire region or further afield.

I am qualified to do just about anything with a horse, as I have spent a lifetime around them. There are only a few horse sports I have not tried, and I would like to try them someday so I can be the most well rounded horse person as possible! From November 30 - Dec 6 of 2015, and article was published about me on the USEA website, http://useventing.com/news/best-10-i-ever-spent#overlay-context=news/best-10-i-ever-spent , and this explains a lot of what I have done in the past 5 years.
Riding/Training/Care of horses Evaluate and Treat People and horses with various Injuries and Disabilities
I have been working w/ horses for 40 years. I have managed a 55 stall show barn, which included teaching lessons 6 days/week & started doing so when I was 18 years old. I have started many horses, & specialize in working w/ young, green, or problem horses. I am ready to make the move to being an official "professional." I have my own horse business, Optimus Farm, & I specialize in rehabbing physically & mentally broken horses, Import Irish Sport Horses & perform Sport Horse Evaluations. I also have taken boarders, & currently show, & train. My former horse is considered the current best performing 3 day event mare of her breed in the world, and she won horse of the year in the United States Eventing Association Area IX (mountain states) in the Preliminary level of eventing in 2015. I took her from being a $10 rescue horse to being the best of the best at that level.
I have a MS in Physical Therapy, & am certified to perform Hippotherapy, which is Physical Therapy of a disabled person on a horse. I am one of the few people in the country who qualify to be a riding instructor and a Hippotherapist. Eventing is my first love, but I also enjoy Jumpers and Hunting. I have dabbled in breeding as well. I created my own website, and have experience with marketing and selling horses on line. I have imported many horses from Ireland. I am also a published author
I spent 26 years as a Hunter/Jumper rider, specializing in the jumpers. I competed in Junior Jumpers as a junior, and in 2007, my home bred 5 year old mare told me she wanted to gallop and jump, so I learned how to event! I have also hunted, have ridden regularly in hunter paces, and did compete in the highest level of Medal Equitation classes as a junior as well as Junior Hunters. Trail riding and versatility competitions are fun for me as well.
Please check my website, www.optimusfarm.com . Highlights from 2015: *Grand Champion: Open Preliminary Horse (5th level) Division, Open Preliminary Rider, Preliminary Amateur Rider, Preliminary Master Amateur Rider, and First Year Preliminary Horse, CCC of the MSEA, in the US Eventing Association (USEA) Area IX. *Grand Champion: Preliminary Amateur Rider and Preliminary Master Amateur Rider in the MSEA. *Reserve Champion, Open Preliminary Division of the MSEA.
