I am a keen aspiring groom who has been working with horses on a voluntary basis, and am now looking for a full or part-time opportunity to progress my career and gain more experience. I am confident around horses and have been developing essential skills through volunteering at a livery yard and with a rescue. Ideally, I would be looking for a role in the Basingstoke area while I'm learning to drive, but happy to consider a live-in position in the wider Hampshire region or further afield.
My name is Daisie, I am 18 years old and have owned horses for the past 5 years. I have previously worked on an international showjumping yard and am keen to pursue my next job. I am open to any discipline and able to adapt to every yards standards and needs.

I drive Cat C+E vehicles delivering ambient-frozen goods. Previously I worked at a horse livery yard for 5 years but wanted to get my HGV qualification so I could do more with my own horse.
I have worked on a livery yard as a yard groom, and worked at shows as a spare hand for 5 years. I brought horses in from the field, changed rugs, cleaned feet and put them to bed alongside a net and feed before locking up. I also worked morning shifts turning out with the same rug changing and hoof cleaning, feeds ect, pooh picking, mucking out and general yard sweeping/cleaning up. I have owned my own mare for the past 9years from a 10 month old RSPCA rescue foal and have been through the highs and lows of it. Her breeding and style makes her a harder horse to ride and communicate with and we are yet to achieve a proper canter in a school or any form of proper jumping. However I have been to Sparsholt college and worked on my canter and jumping there.
I am always happy to handle any horse and change the way i work with them to help them feel more comfortable around me.
I know Natural horsmanship and seem to have a calming effect on many horses and ponies. I can clip, ride (although with my trotter mare I have not had a lot of practice cantering or jumping) handle, load, drive any size box/trailer and clean tack to high standard (I am a tack enthusiast and strive to be a saddler in the future, I can't bear untidy tack rooms, so safe to say I can be found cleaning bits!)
I work well on the flat having had 4 years of flat work on my own horse. I try to work her up to Novice level as best I can in walk and trot, however due to her canter I have never managed to do tests higher than Intro on her. I always have scored a high 60% + on each test, not always gaining a rosette but always coming away with a smile and knowing we produced what our scores have shown.
I do like my jumping and would love to further myself in this dicipline.
Very little experience but I would love to further myself in this department!
