Organising & completing daily routine tasks in the stables, worming, exercising horses, sole charge of yard, driving horse box, treat minor wounds, change dressing & give medicines, health & safety, observe changes in horses & all competition duties.
I have ridden since before I could walk. Riding for 19 years I have experience all round, from showjumping nationally with British Showjumping up to 1.35m, learning with the Whitakers, and training with international showjumpers and dressage riders. I have spent many years producing young Thoroughbreds, Connemaras, and my own Dutch Warmblood into a very successful showjumper.
I take sole charge of the livery yard when the owner is absent which include keeping up-to-date with farrier, physio and nutritionist visits and also order in wormers when required. Every day I am aware of health and safety and am able to treat minor wounds, change dressing and give certain medication when needed. I have had 2 years experience driving a 2 horse horsebox, soon to be extending my driving licence to include Category C1 (7.5 tonne/HGV)
I am a self-motivated individual that is very enthusiastic, and believe these are key skills in delivering and maintaining effective and successful performance. Due to having a high level of responsibility in my day-to-day life, I am able to work confidently within a team as well as independently in a time-effective way. I also enjoy opportunities that enable me to take more of a leadership role where I can support, guide and enable others.
I have most experience in showjumping due to competing and recent events. I have recently been working as a rider groom in Spain for top international riders, on The Sunshine Tour. I school a wide variety of horses daily, from heavyweights like Hanoverians, to warmbloods & Thoroughbreds right down to 12.2hh Section D's. The past few years I have taken the opportunity to take on Dressage as this is becoming a desirable discipline and currently take part in dressage competing at county level.
I have recently worked for top international riders at the Sunshine Tour in Cadiz, this has boosted my experience and taught me everything in the competition world.
