Nutritional advice, Advice on horse purchases
I have just completed my BSc hons equine sport science degree with a 2:1. I began riding at the age of 9 and have had a passion for horses ever since. I began loaning horses at the age of 13, and took the opportunity to further my riding experience through regular lessons and local unaffiliated shows, in which I competed in the show jumping classes. Since attending university I have had regular lessons (3 a week), as well as training and competing with the university equestrian team at dressage and show jumping. My university lesson consisted of a combination of dressage, showjumping, cross country, lunging and long reining. The team I compete on for the university have also been very successful and qualified for the regional championships last year. I am a very confident, competent rider and will relish any opportunity to further my skills and knowledge.
During my summer breaks from university (3 months) I have worked at a local riding stables as an instructor. My responsibilities included; teaching lessons, schooling horses and all yard duties. Since completing university I have been working at markfield equestrian centre as yard staff and an instructor, however I am now looking for a role involving more riding.
I have competed at local unaffiliated showjumping competitions on the horses I have loaned. I have also competed for my university as part of the BUCs leagues, in showjumping and dressage. During the BUCs competitions riders are required to ride a variety of horses provided by the university which is hosting the competition. The riders are given 7 minutes prior to dressage to get used to the horses and 5 minutes prior to showjumping.
